The Story behind the Design

The Aria Heart Necklace explores the timeless symbol of the heart through a sculptural and contemporary lens. Rather than depicting a flat motif, the design transforms the heart into a dimensional form that feels both soft and architectural.

The first concepts were developed through hand drawings created with graphite pencil and ink liner on textured sketch paper. Gentle shading helped define the rounded volume of the heart, while colour studies were explored using alcohol markers to experiment with enamel tones and the placement of Austrian crystals across the surface.

The slightly domed silhouette allows light to move naturally across the gold surface, creating subtle reflections that enhance the sculptural quality of the pendant. Small enamel fragments and crystal accents introduce texture and depth, adding a painterly quality to the design.

Through this process the heart evolved from a familiar symbol into a refined object of design. The Aria Heart Necklace captures emotion in sculptural form, creating a piece that feels both intimate and quietly expressive.
