The Story behind the Design

The Aria Papillon Ring began as a study of movement, openness and quiet strength. Inspired by the lightness of butterfly wings, the design explores how sculptural form can express expansion and transformation.

The first concepts were developed through hand sketches drawn in graphite and fine liner on textured paper. Layers of pencil shading defined the proportions and curvature of the ring, while coloured markers were used to explore the placement of enamel petals and Austrian crystals.

The enamel blossoms across the surface represent moments of growth and becoming. Like flowers unfolding in nature, they symbolise personal transformation and the quiet strength that emerges over time.

Through this process the form gradually evolved into a sculptural
silhouette that gently arcs around the finger. The final design balances structure and fluidity, translating the lift of butterfly wings into a refined piece of wearable sculpture.
