The Story behind the Design

The Ondara Wreath Ring began as a study of organic growth, quiet strength and natural architecture. Inspired by the intricate structures of coral formations, the design explores how these living patterns can be translated into sculptural jewellery.

The first concepts were developed through hand sketches drawn in graphite and fine liner on textured paper. Layers of pencil shading helped define the proportions of the circular form, while coloured markers were used to explore the enamel surfaces and the placement of Austrian crystals within the coral structure.

Each coral element contributes to the rhythm of the ring, creating a continuous movement around the open centre. The circular composition evokes cycles of growth and regeneration, while the crystals introduce subtle reflections of light across the textured surface.

Through this process the form evolved into a sculptural wreath that rests lightly above the finger. The Ondara Wreath Ring transforms the quiet complexity of coral into a refined piece of wearable design.
